Hi, I'm Shahrom
I specialize in converting problem spaces into software products. I like solving complex socio-technical problems,1 owning projects end-to-end, and love working in small teams (3-7 people). I design with user motivations as my lens, build fast, test and validate with real users, and ship yesterday.
Product engineer, trained as a computer scientist, with graduate studies in design research and educational technology. 5 years of professional experience across the stack in web, mobile, systems, and games; building software for the past 13 years.
Currently productizing a research method into software tools, interfaces, and technical infrastructure for design research at Materializing Design: a government funded research group at Concordia University.
Previously co-founded Zelospace in London helping university students connect: designed the product, built iOS and Android apps, and hit product-market fit leading a tech team of 5.
Also the maintainer for SunBlock, building a distributed network of solar-powered servers.
I build with production in mind so usability and security are both key factors from inception.
